Category: Jacksonville Networking
Jacksonville networking opportunities are plentiful, and I try to document, and meet interesting people at, many of them. I’m active in the JAX Chamber, the JITC, the Downtown Council, the Transportation & Logistics Council, SBRN, Southside Business Men’s Club, and the World Affairs Council. I am always looking for active groups of smart people.
Networking the right way is more than collecting business cards or LinkedIn connections- it’s meeting people and getting to know them, by participating consistently. It took me many years to realize that simply attending a chamber mixer a couple of times a year was (just about) a waste of time. It took consistency and dedication to the group before I was able to realize any sales success… Only after developing relationships with the people in the group was I able to get referrals, business, or any sales opportunity from the group.
Let me know if you’d like to visit any of the groups I write about. I am always happy to bring along a guest!
