I’m hosting a Jax Chamber lunch ladder (Downtown Council) this week. It’s my first one (as the host / captain). I need three more people, so hurry up and sign up here.
Last year, about this time, I made some commitments to myself:
- I committed to ‘network’ more
- I committed to to eat alone, less often
- I committed to read more ‘vocation / professional’ books
- I committed to fly again
Lunch ladders are a great way to help with the first commitment, networking more. I met some great people on my JITC lunch ladder, my Mandarin Council lunch ladder, and my North Council lunch ladder.
Obviously, Jax Chamber lunch ladders are a great way to make sure you don’t eat alone. Why do I want to eat alone, less often? Because smart people like Keith Ferrazzi say that “your network is your net worth,” and bonus, it makes it a write off 🙂
Lunch Ladders have absolutely no bearing on the 3rd and 4th commitments, but just so I don’t leave you hanging: I read (or listened to- Audible and Overdrive are awesome!) a lot more professional / development / non-fiction books in 2018 than in any other year prior… It’s kind of addicting, but highly recommended. (Check out some of my books here; I should get some more added soon)
I did NOT, unfortunately, fly again. 2019, maybe… anybody want to start a commercial flying club with me (seriously)?
Thanks for reading!
