The My JAX Chamber Downtown Council hosted the second meeting of the year this past Friday… Not only was it the second breakfast of 2019, but it was the second meeting at our new home, the Old St Andrews Church.
Just shy of 60 people! That’s two weeks in a row… PWC (Professional Women’s Council), watch out!
Debbie Buckland spoke about the JAX Chamber initiatives for 2019, as well as the JAX Chamber Downtown Covenant:
- More jobs & residents – “DT10K”
- Convention Center Downtown
- Support DIA (Downtown Investment Authority)
- Smart Transportation / Infrastructure
- Leverage downtown waterfront property
- Improve waterfront access / amenities
Our raffles have become much more lively, the last couple of weeks. I’m not saying that it’s totally due to the addition of alcohol (being raffled), but it definitely doesn’t hurt!
Whether you do business in downtown Jacksonville or not, the Downtown Council is a great place to meet other business people and network. We meet the first and third Friday of the month, so please make it a point to stop by at one of our future meetings.
